When a couple decides to get married, the one
thing they know right away is that they want their wedding to be perfect. But
what does that mean? It is easy for newly engaged couples to feel overwhelmed.
There are so many choices and the options are unlimited. What to do?
Shannon and Troy had
known each other for a number of years as their younger brothers had been best
friends. The couple had gone to high school together, but it wasn't until Troy
returned from the Navy and Shannon home from college that they reconnected. As
Shannon put it, "things from there just fell into place."
For Shannon and Troy they knew from the start that
they wanted to have a wedding that reflected who they were, and for them, that
included a destination wedding. Although she had never been to Traverse City,
Troy had vacationed in the area many times and loved it. After much research on

Indeed, the Parkshore Resort fit their
needs and desires perfectly. It is located on Grand Traverse East Bay, and
features a lovely landscaped lawn with a white gazebo to provide a stunning
background for a wedding. It also offers an expansive beach area for ceremonies

over a multitude of wedding day details.
Shannon and Troy designed a wedding that combined

the lovely bride was escorted down the aisle by her father. Her face was beaming
and she looked stunning in her short, playful, wedding dress. At the gazebo she
was greeted by the happy, smiling groom who had also opted for a more casual
groom attire....shorts and flip flops.
Including family was important to the couple, so
the each had their brothers stand up with them. The actual ceremony for the most
part was traditional and romantic, but to make it their own and reflect that
their relationship was unique, Shannon and Troy exchanged personal vows that
they had written for each other.
After group photos of family and friends were
taken, the couple were off to the beach for some candid photos in the sand and
It was a spectacular, memorable day for the
couple, one that they will forever cherish.
